Warnung vor neuer "Storm-Worm-Taktik": Angebliche US-Invasion im Iran

E-Mail enthält ein Video mit angeblich aktuellen Bildern

(22.07.08) - Die Websense Security Labs konnten mit ihrer "ThreatSeeker"-Technologie eine neue Taktik des berüchtigten "Storm Worm" aufspüren. Diesmal führt der Wurm die Adressaten einer E-Mail mit reißerischen Schlagzeilen wie "Occupation of Iran", "War with Iran is the reality now" oder "Washington prefers to shoot first" in Versuchung. Die E-Mail enthält ein Video mit angeblich aktuellen Bildern. Wer das Video öffnet, hat automatisch einen Trojaner auf seinem Rechner.

In seinen Security Labs beobachtet Websense, ein internationaler Experte für Internet-Sicherheit, pro Stunde mehrere Millionen Websites und analysiert, wie sich neue Bedrohungen aus dem Internet verhalten und auswirken.

Websense Security Labs ThreatSeeker Network has discovered yet another peak in Storm Worm's spam campaign. This time the socially-engineered messages announce the start of World War III, indicating that U.S. forces just invaded Iran. The messages offer a video of this alleged recent drama.

The structure of the attack is similar to the 4th of July alert <http://securitylabs.websense.com/content/Alerts/3131.aspx>; initially, several exploits are delivered to the user's browser under a script file named ind.php . The names of the socially-engineered executables in this attack are iran_occupation.exe and form.exe.

Websense Messaging and Websense Web Security customers are protected against this attack.
