"There was a changing of the guard so to speak in February. The once dominate worms like Klez, Yaha, Gibe, and Nimda have all but fallen to the waste side in favor of a younger breed of worms," said Steven Sundermeier, Vice President of Products and Services at Central Command, Inc.  Members of the Klez, Yaha, Gibe and Nimda families have all shared in holding the top position in the Dirty Dozen. "We are also witnessing a new disturbing trend: well-organized virus writing capable of accomplishing their premeditated objectives." Worm/MyDoom.A successfully launched a denial of service (DOS) attack on the website sco.com. Worm/Netsky.B, Worm/Netsky.C, and Worm/Bagle.B effectively spread across the Internet while infecting thousands of systems worldwide. (ma)
