Posted Six Consecutive Quarters of Profitability in a Sluggish Economy CyberGuard
Slated To Join Russell 3000 Index (08.07.03)
- CyberGuard Corporation (AMEX: CFW) announced that it is included in the
preliminary list of companies slated to join the broad-market Russell 3000
Index when it is reconfigured at the end of June. The Frank Russell Company
released its preliminary lists of additions and deletions June 13. Scott
Hammack, chairman and chief executive officer of CyberGuard Corporation
stated: "This is another milestone for our company. We moved to the
American Stock Exchange less than a year ago and have increased our
visibility within the financial community since then. We’ve posted six
consecutive quarters of profitability in a sluggish economy and our financial
position is stronger than it’s ever been. Inclusion in the Russell 3000 Index
is further tangible evidence of those accomplishments."

The
Russell 3000 Index contains the largest 3,000 companies incorporated in the
United States and its territories and represents approximately 98 percent of
the investable U.S. equity market. The companies are ranked by decreasing
total market capitalisation. The largest 1,000 companies in the ranking
comprise the Russell 1000 while the remaining 2,000 companies become the
Russell 2000. Russell reconstitutes the membership once a year to reflect changes
in market capitalisation and style attributes. The just
released preliminary list shows 288 companies being added to the Russell 3000
̵ fewer than last year's 404 companies and less than the 10-year average of
495. Final index membership will go into effect July 1 and remain in place
for one year. The final membership lists for the Russell 3000, Russell 2000
and Russell 1000 will be posted July 9.
