Netegrity's customers in the consumer finance and wireline and wireless telecommunications industries have expressed the need for Liberty compliant solutions due to the specification's robust federation model including strong privacy policies. To enable Liberty-compliant, browser-based identity federation, Netegrity SiteMinder technology provides a comprehensive Liberty Alliance ID-FF solution, supporting both Identity Provider and Service Provider modes of federation. During the conformance test, Netegrity demonstrated all of the functionality required to pass both Liberty Service Provider Complete and Identity Provider. Netegrity's Liberty compliant solution is supported with SiteMinder version 5.0 and higher.

The "Netegrity Universal Federation Architecture" enables companies to securely share identity infor-mation across applications within the enterprise as well as to external partner companies. Netegrity provides customers with a broad choice of standards to use in their federation implementations, including Liberty, SAML, and WS-Security. In addition, Netegrity is the only vendor that enables comprehensive deploy-ments that span both browser-based and Web services-based federation. Using Netegrity's identity and access management products, customers are able to incorporate their federated identity initiatives as part of an enterprise-wide identity management infrastructure.

Netegrity also offers a professional service package to assist customers with their federation implemen-tations. The package helps customers to use standards such as SAML or Liberty to quickly get up and running with federation deployments.

"Earning the Liberty Alliance interoperability conformance logo and demonstrating interoperability with other vendor's Liberty implementations is very important to Netegrity and our federated identity strategy," said Vadim Lander, CTO at Netegrity. "Our customers have clearly indicated that federation is a key business initiative and the Netegrity Universal Federation Architecture and our support for all of the major federation standards will help to ensure success in their federation projects."

Every product or service with the official Liberty-interoperable logo will have demonstrated successful implementation of the Liberty federated identity specifications during a Liberty-sponsored validation event. The implementations must successfully pass a series of tests created and published by the Liberty Alliance. The test suite is designed to validate each implementation's execution of the Liberty specifications’ core features and verify the ability to interoperate with at least two randomly designated partners.
