The new "Route1 Mobikey" was demonstrated in the Route1/G&D booth at the 2008 RSA Conference, held in San Francisco from April 7 - 11. The presentation featured Route1’s "Truoffice" service for secure remote access, and "Purlink" service for secure web access. It showcased the ability to deliver Route1 services and solutions, powered by Mobinet, on a variety of G&D’s form-factors within the StarSign family, including the "StarSign" Mobility Token and the StarSign USB Token microSD.

"This is an exciting foray into new security services," said Dr. Kai Grassie, Senior Vice President of Giesecke & Devrient, "and we are very pleased that Route1 has chosen G&D’s latest StarSign technology to ensure security and mobility for the extension of their product offering."

Licenses to Route1's software-based subscription services will be marketed, distributed, and sold through G&D's worldwide sales force and value added resellers in addition to Route1's current sales channels. The new Mobikey form-factors, including "Mobimicro" will broaden Route1's reach into Financial Services, Government, Healthcare, Telecommunications and private sector organizations.

"The collaborative efforts shown by both companies have resulted in best-in-class technology, delivered on best-of-breed hardware", said Andrew White, Route1's President and CEO. "What we have demonstrated to date is the first in a long line of products and services to be developed, marketed, and sold worldwide."

The new Mobikey devices and form-factors are expected to ship in early ‘Q3, 2008. (Giesecke & Devrient: Route1:ra)
