Secure Browsing Service Honored for Excellence in Securing Online Banking Sessions

(05.10.10) - Trusteer, provider of secure browsing services, announced that it has won the coveted 2010 Excellence in Consumer Protection Services Award from the Online Trust Alliance (OTA) for its secure browsing services. The OTA Awards program recognizes exceptional companies and individuals that demonstrate a commitment to preserving and improving online safety for consumers, business and government services. Trusteer was recognized at the 5th Annual Online Trust & Cyber Security Forum on September 23rd in Washington DC.

The Trusteer secure browser service protects banking and other online sessions by blocking attacks and then disinfecting machines that are infected with financial malware. When a Trusteer user browses to sensitive websites such as internet banking, Webmail, or online payment pages, the service immediately locks down the browser and creates a tunnel for safe communication with the web site. This prevents malware from injecting data and stealing information entered and presented in the browser.

The service is directly connected to the bank (or other online business protected by Trusteer) and to Trusteer’s 24x7 fraud analysis service.
