Cards Prepaid Ltd Achieves PCI DSS Level 2 Compliance with SafeNet "Luna SA"

Hardware Security Module (HSM) Secures Prepaid Payment Card Transactions for European Start-Up

(25.11.10) - SafeNet's "Luna SA HSM" has been selected by Cards Prepaid Ltd to support transparent data encryption, PIN retrieval, and high levels of cryptographic operations per second. The Luna SA HSM also ensures compliance with the latest Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). The Luna SA HSM was selected over rival vendors including Thales, due to the combined functionality and service for PIN IVR, customization and support of MSFT EKM.

Cards Prepaid is now able to integrate Microsoft’s SQL Database for storage of sensitive customer information, using the Luna SA HSMs to securely store the server’s master cryptographic keys, whilst creating an audit trail to maintain compliance. Deployment of the Luna SA was completed in less than four weeks.

Cards Prepaid designs and manages prepaid debit card programmes and offers full-service prepaid transaction solutions such as expense cards or payroll cards management solutions and reporting tools. Cards Prepaid delivers a reliable and secure solution in compliance with PCI DSS Level 2.0. SafeNet Luna SA HSM’s ability to perform Extensible Key Management (EKM) as well as PIN block decrypts over Interactive Voice Response (IVR) were additional key factors for the company.
